Adventure awaits in Middle-earth! Join us for an entire weekend celebrating Magic: The Gathering – The Hobbit. Open brand-new cards before the set's official release, build a deck from your Prerelease Pack, and share the experience with the OMG Games community.

With six events across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you can choose the time that fits your schedule—or join us for several adventures throughout the weekend.

Every Prerelease is a brand-new adventure. Each event includes a fresh Prerelease Pack, a new deck to build, different opponents to face, and another opportunity to explore The Hobbit. Many players join us for multiple events, and every one offers a different experience.

Why Play a Prerelease? Prerelease is one of the most welcoming ways to experience a new Magic set. Everyone opens new cards at the event and builds a 40-card Sealed deck from their Prerelease Pack. You don't need to arrive with a deck, and you don't need to know every card in the set. Discovering the cards together is part of the fun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring a deck? No. You'll open a Prerelease Pack at the event and build a new 40-card deck from its contents.

Can I play in more than one event? Absolutely. Every event is a separate tournament with a new Prerelease Pack and a new deck-building experience.

I'm new to Magic. Can I still play? Yes. Prereleases are beginner-friendly, and our staff and community are happy to help with deck building and rules questions.

Is the Midnight Prerelease Friday or Saturday night? It begins Friday night at 11:59 PM, immediately following the Friday evening event.

How does Two-Headed Giant work? Each player receives a Prerelease Pack. Teammates combine both packs into one shared card pool and work together to build two 40-card decks. Teams share a 30-life total and play their turns together.

Can I register without a Two-Headed Giant partner? You may register individually. Contact us or speak with staff if you need help finding a teammate before the event.
