Join us at OMG Games for a special afternoon of Commander as we come together to remember our friend Austin Irving and raise money in support of the Diabetes Society.

This event is about more than finding our next Store Champion. It's a chance for our gaming community to get together, share some laughs, play the game we love, remember Austin, and raise money for a cause that is important to his memory.

Entry is a minimum $10 donation, with players welcome to contribute more if they wish. We'll also have some special Commander rules during the first two rounds that give everyone a few entertaining ways to contribute a little more to the fundraiser.

Event Format

We'll play 3 rounds of Commander, with players competing in pods of 3-4 players.

The first two rounds will feature special fundraising rules. The top players will then advance to the final table, where we'll play regular Commander to determine this year's champion and whose name will be added to the Austin Cup.

Round 1 – $2 Counterspells

During Round 1, players may make a $2 donation to cast a Counterspell — no mana required!

Protect your board, stop someone's big play, save the table from disaster, or just counter something because you can. Every $2 Counterspell adds a little more fun to the game while adding a little more to the fundraiser.

Round 2 – $6 Mindslaver

Things get a little more dangerous in Round 2.

Players may make a $6 donation to create a Mindslaver artifact token and put it onto the battlefield.

The Mindslaver still requires the normal 4 mana to activate, so choose your moment carefully!

Round 3 – The Austin Cup Final

The top players from the first two rounds will advance to the final table.

No special fundraising abilities. No extra rules. Just Commander.

The winner will be crowned our OMG Store Champion and will have their name forever memorialized on the Austin Cup.

Our champion will also receive a special trophy featuring their winning Commander — a unique keepsake commemorating the Commander that carried them to victory.

Prizing & Promos

Random Promo Packs will be given out during each round.

Every player will also receive a random promo for participating.

This year's OMG Store Champion will receive FREE FNM entry until next year's Austin Irving Memorial Event!
